Papuans are fighting for the right thing
"What the Papuan people are fighting for is the right thing, so go ahead. As long as the struggle is peaceful, you can do it."
These were the words of former Indonesian President Abdurrahman Wahid or Gusdur in June 2006, after we spoke about the relgious tolerance in Indonesia, especially in Papua.
The two photos above are of me (ULMWP delegate) with Gusdur's two daughters, Alissa Wahid (eldest daughter) and Anita H Wahid (third daughter) on October 2024 in Jayapura.
When I handed over my letter and book on Political History Series, Human Rights, Democracy and Law, I repeated Gusdur's message to his two daughters. It was quite touching.
Have a nice day and God Bless!
