Documentary film "Paradise Bombed" appreciated by Markus Haluk

A new documentary about the human tragedy in West Papua has just been released. Titled "Paradise Bombed", the 45-minute documentary covered the 2021 Indonesian military attack on Kiwirok, a remote village on the border of West Papua and Papua New Guinea.

Markus Haluk, executive director of the ULMWP, expressed his deep appreciation to the reporting team, especially to Kristo Langker and friendlyjordies, who bravely exposed Indonesia's covert military operations in West Papua to the world:

"I appreciate this documentary. What has been presented here are the facts of the current conflict in West Papua. More than 60,000 thousand Papuans have been displaced due to armed conflict in the districts of: Maybrat, Kiwirok, Intan Jaya, Nduga, Puncak Papua and Yahukimo.

The death toll of Papuan civilians has increased dramatically. Casualties also fell among the Indonesian security forces TNI / POLRI and the West Papuan liberation army TPNPB.

At the same time, the Indonesian government under the leadership of President Jokowi continues to reduce civil liberties and to close democratic space. Many policies promoted by Jokowi for Papua are part of the occupation politics based on racist sentiments.

As a result, Papuans are heading towards genocide, ethnocide and ecocide. Visits and access to the UN Human Rights Council are still denied. Access for journalists and researchers, members of the Senate and Congress is closed. This situation makes many people wonder what is going on in West Papua?

May the international community continue to speak out. We need the support of the international community. This documentary is an expression of solidarity for West Papua. Greetings and prayers"
